Our dedicated team works in partnership with families to understand the root cause of absence and put strategies in place to support regular attendance. No judgement, just joined-up solutions.

Working Together for Every Day at School: Meet Our Education Welfare Officer (EWO)

At Delce Academy, we believe that celebrating good attendance fosters motivation, pride, and success for every child. Every school day counts, and being in class consistently helps children build strong friendships, stay engaged, and reach their full potential.

To support our school community, Delce Academy works closely with TEAM EWS, an independent Education Welfare Service. Our dedicated Education Welfare Officer (EWO) is a vital part of our school team, working alongside staff, parents, and carers to encourage positive attendance habits and remove any barriers to coming to school.

How the EWO Supports Our Families:

  • Support & Guidance: Life can throw unexpected challenges our way. Our EWO is here to work directly with families who may be struggling with school attendance or punctuality, offering practical support, early guidance, and help finding solutions tailored to your family's needs.

  • Understanding Causes: Whether it is health, anxiety, routine adjustments, or wider family support needs, the EWO helps identify the root causes of absences so we can put the right help in place together.

  • Building Good Habits: Beyond celebrating top attendance, the EWO monitors attendance trends across the school to help every child maintain a healthy routine.
